Gitzo Traveler is the most compact professional tripod in the market thanks to its revolutionary 180° leg folding system. This system gets rid of any space inefficiency in the support system by accommodating the head inside the folded tripod legs and makes it the smallest folded tripod for its open size and number of sections. While Traveler has always been associated to smaller Series 1 size tripods, ideal for travelling above all when flying is involved, more and more affectionate customers and pro photographers have been asking for a more substantial Traveler tripod. The new Series 2 Traveler is the answer to this need by combining the compactness and lightweight of the Gitzo Traveler System with the stability and size of a regular Mountaineer Series 2 tripod. The design is derived from the limited edition 90th anniversary Titanium Traveler and it has been developed with the most advanced 3D modelling software in order to achieve a ultra light weight structure and yet extremely sturdy and rigid. The new Series 2 Traveler tripod is available as a four section standard height tripod and it comes as a complete kit including a fully new dedicated center ball head. Accordingly to a wholly new approach, tripod and head has been designed as a single combined product and not as two separate entities. This allowed to maximise the project goals for lightweight, compactness and performance with no compromise.

The tripod features all Gitzo most advanced features, such as 6X tubing, G-Lock, ground level, removable self locking feet, rapid and reversible column and retractable hook.

The head is a travelling head that combines lightweight and compactness with the latest Gitzo technologies. The main body is made of casted lightweight magnesium, the sphere is the revolutionary patented Gitzo “Bubble Ball” PTFE treated, mounted on PTFE bushings. This head is exceptionally smooth and guarantees a safe lock up to 6 kg (13,2 lbs) measured accordingly to Gitzo standard (15 kg-33 lbs if measured accordingly to competitors standard).

The new Series 2 Traveler comes with a smart Gitzo display cleaner and a convenient anti dust bag for packing and transportation. The textile anti dust bag is an answer to environmental protection; aiming to reduce the amount of plastic bags that world industry produces every year.

Features ALR Anti-Leg-Rotation: Gitzo have introduced a new Anti-Leg-Rotation system, which means the tripod can be opened in less than 15 seconds. Simply loosen all the twist locks on each leg at the same time, then pull the leg down and tighten the twists individually. GROUND LEVEL SET - This new feature allows you to remove the center column to save weight and get the camera closer to the ground. Uses existing components: the upper disc with reversible 1/4 - 3/8 bolt and the column hook assembly: Remove column and fix the disk directly to the upper casting using the column hook. No tools needed. HOOK - This built-in accessory allows you to hang a stabilizingweight (e.g. a full camera bag or a sand/water bag) fromthe bottom of the tripod center column. Useful with longheavy lenses, on uneven ground or in windy conditions. RAPID COLUMN - The center column locking collar above the tripod shoulder makes it easier to adjust the column quickly. Series 1 and above are built with an anti-rotation grooved center column for improved stability. REVERSIBLE COLUMN - The rapid column can easily be inverted for an alternative shooting angle or low level macro work.
